Description

Often times, especially in Experience Cloud, it is helpful to be able to stamp user information into SharePoint when a user uploads a file.  This can be easily accomplished by editing the SharePoint Object Settings metadata settings.

Procedure

1. In SharePoint, navigate to the document library that you are using to connect to Salesforce.
2. Add a custom column like "Email"
3. In Salesforce, Navigate to Setup>Custom Metadata Types
4. Click "Manage Records" next to "SharePoint Object Settings"
5. Edit the object that you wish to set the field on.  This can be repeated for any objects in the document library.
6. Add the following to "Folder Custom Field Default Value" 
   • Email:[CurrentUser.Email]
   • The part before the colon is the name of the Custom Column in the Document Library.  The square brackets can contain any of the user fields listed below.
7. Save the setting.
8. Now, when a file is uploaded to that object, or a folder is created, the user field will be written to SharePoint.
