Set specific child folder as record default

This article walks you through the steps of setting up sFiles to open a specific child folder. For example, you may have a Task record that looks at its parent Account SharePoint folder. However, on some tasks you have a subfolder within the Account folder you would like to set as the default folder to open in sFiles. This will allow you to selectively override which folder opens when you view a record.

Steps

  1. Create a new text field in the object that has sFiles. Enter 100 in the Length text field.
    1. NOTE: If you are setting this feature up on the 'Task' or 'Event' object, you will create this text field on the 'Activity' object)

  2. Navigate to your record's Lightning page layout inside the App Builder and click the sFiles Browser component.
  3. In the Manually Linked Field API Name field enter the API name of the Salesforce field you created. 1.png
  4. Click Save. 
  5. Now navigate to a record where you would like to set a child folder as the default folder. 
  6. Click the folder's drop-down menu and select Set as default. From now on the folder will become the default folder on the record. 2.png
  7. To break the link click the 2.pngicon on the top right of sFiles browser.
