Prerequisites

1. You must have sFiles set up and running in your organization.
2. You can set either a static value or set a Salesforce field value into the SharePoint column. If you are setting a value from a Salesforce field from your record, have the technical name of the Salesforce field at hand (e.g., if you are setting a formula field value, have the API name of the formula field ready).
3. Users have read access to the sFiles SharePoint Column object and fields.
4. Admin user (the person setting this up) must have edit access to the sFiles SharePoint Column object and fields.
5. Add access to the "sFiles SharePoint Column" tab to the admin profile. 

Overview

sFiles allows users to set SharePoint columns when uploading a file or creating a new folder. While sFiles is already able to set values in SharePoint columns automatically on upload (How to automatically set values in SharePoint columns from sFiles), this feature allows users to manually set values. For example, if you would like the user to add a comment when uploading a file through sFiles, this can be done through a form like below. 

Steps

Get the SharePoint Column Name

In our example we will allow the user to insert a comment on uploading a file.

1. To get the technical field name of your SharePoint column you can use a tool included in the sFiles Settings app. 
2. In Salesforce's Setup, in the Quick Find box, type Installed Packages and navigate to Installed Packages.
3. Click the Configure link next to sFiles in the Installed Packages list view.
4. Click Custom Column Utility on the left navigation panel.
5. Select the SharePoint site and Document Library that contains the column you are searching for.
6. You will see a list of all the SharePoint columns and their technical names.
7. Copy the Column Names of the columns in which you would like to set data. 
8. In the Setup Wizard, click the "Object Settings" tab, and make note of the name of the sFiles Object Settings you want to enable this feature on. In our example, we use "Account". 
9. Now in Salesforce, navigate to the sFiles SharePoint Columns list view. In order to do this, you must have edit/view access to the object "sFiles_SharePoint_Column__c" as well as to its fields. You must also have the tab for the custom object enabled for your profile. Go to the App Launcher (nine dots on the top left) and search for the sFiles SharePoint Columns tab. 
10. Create a New Column. 
11. In the new column modal, enter the following information
    1. Name: The SharePoint column name as we found in step 7.
    2. Label: The label that will be displayed to the user above the field for the user. 
    3. Type: The type of SharePoint columns. Available values are Text, Number, Choice, Date (NEW on v.1.51) and Lookup.
    4. Object Settings Name: This is the name that we noted in step 8, the name of the Object Settings that we want to use this column for.
    5. Required: Determines whether the column requires the user to provide a value.
    6. Default Value: What text pre-populates the input field. Default Value can merge values from the Salesforce record when you surround the field name with square brackets. For example, "Salesforce Id:[Id]" will display like "Salesforce Id:0017X00000zSfthQAC". This merge also supports the CurrentUser object.        1. For a lookup field, you can use the string value of the lookup list option or its numeral index in the list. (Ex. List Option 1"OR 1)
    7. Choices: Only used for column type of "Choice". Enter the choice values as a comma-separated list. E.g., "Tomatoes, Avocadoes, Cucumbers"
       1. NOTE: this feature does not currently support choice columns that are multi-select.
    8. Lookup List and Column: Only use for Lookup type columns. Add the list and column as comma-separated values with the list first and the column second. E.g., "My List,Title"
    9. Order: The order that the input field for this SharePoint Column will be displayed in the form. If no number is given, the column will be ordered alphabetically by its "Label" value and will precede any ordered columns.
    10. Display SharePoint Column For.. (NEW on v.1.56): Whether this column will display for files, folders or both. If no value is selected, this column will display for both.
12. If any of these fields is missing on the page layout, go to the sFiles SharePoint Column object settings (Salesforce Setup > Object Manager > sFiles SharePoint Column) and ensure the following:
    1. The field is added on the sFiles SharePoint Columns page layout.
    2. The field is visible to the current user.

14. Repeat step 11 for as many columns as you would like the user to set. 
15. Once these columns have been created, the user will be prompted to input values for these columns every time the user uploads a file or creates a new folder.

Editing SharePoint Column Values

Once a folder is created or a file is uploaded, their SharePoint Column Values can be changed manually.

In the drop-down menu next to a file or folder in the sFiles component, click "Edit Values".

This will open a modal (shown below) that will allow you to edit the SharePoint column values. If that column already has a value, the field will be prepopulated with that current value. If no current value exists, but a default value is set for that column, the field will be prepopulated with the default value. If there is neither a current value nor a default value, no value will be prepopulated. If you want to hide this feature from your users, you can add "HideEditValues" in the visibility options of the sFiles component.
