Prerequisites

• sFiles is setup on an object for Experience Cloud. To configure sFiles for experience cloud, please use the Experience Cloud Setup Wizard in the sFiles Admin Panel (Salesforce Setup > Installed Packages > click configure next to "sFiles") or follow our article, How to set sFiles Enterprise up on Experience Cloud.
• The sFiles Uploader component is setup successfully in Experience Cloud.

Once your sFiles component is setup, you can modify it to ensure it is downloading to the necessary folders. Follow the below steps based on your use-case.

Allow Users to Upload to One Folder

For some business processes, there is a requirement to limit experience cloud users to upload to a single folder. Follow the steps below for this type of configuration on an object page.

Steps to upload only to the record folder

1. In the App Builder settings for the sFiles Uploader component, ensure the Show Folders property is unchecked. This will prevent users from viewing and uploading to subfolders.
2. No other steps are necessary. 

Steps to upload only to a single subfolder

1. Select the subfolder where you would like users to upload files.
2. Create a formula field on the related Salesforce object that points to the subfolder
   1. The Formula field will need to include the SharePoint Folder Id followed by a comma (',') and path of the subfolder
   2.  For example, if you have a folder structure like Accounts>Bob's Account>Engineering>Opportunities and you want to upload to the 'Opportunities' subfolder under Bob's Account, your formula will look like this:
      1. Account.sharepoint_folder_id__c + ',Engineering/Opportunities'.
3. In the SharePoint Object Settings for the sFiles Uploader component (Salesforce Setup > Custom Metadata Types > Click 'Manage Records' next to SharePoint Object Settings), ensure the SharePoint Folder Id field is set to the field you created in step two.
   1. NOTE: If the SharePoint Object Setting is being used by other sFiles components, you will need to clone it and create a new SharePoint Object Setting for the sFiles Uploader component. To configure, see our article: Set up multiple different Object configurations on a single object (sfiles.io) and ensure the SharePoint Folder Id field is set to the field in step two.

4. In the App Builder setting for the sFiles Uploader component. ensure the Show Folders property is unchecked. This will prevent users from viewing and uploading to subfolders.
5. NOTE: If the List View Display Type is set to "List" or "Card", the sFiles uploader component will display a list view at the subfolder level and below.
   1. To display a list view at the record folder and below, you will need to use the sFiles List View Component in conjunction with the sFiles uploader. For this configuration, setup the sFiles List View Component with the following settings in the App Builder:
      1. SharePoint Object Settings key - Ensure this value points to a SharePoint Object Setting that uses the "SharePoint Folder Id" field in the SharePoint Folder Id field (as shown above). This will ensure the sFiles List View component uses the SharePoint Folder Id of the record folder and not the subfolder. To setup multiple SharePoint Object settings on a single object, revisit step three.
      2. Show Folders - Ensure this field is checked. This will allow users to view and navigate subfolders.
      3. With these settings, users will be able to navigate to subfolders in the sFiles List View component, but they will only be able to upload to a single subfolder in the sFiles Uploader component.

Allow Users to Upload to Folder & Subfolders

To allow experience cloud users to upload to the subfolders of a specified SharePoint folder, follow the steps below.

Steps

1. Navigate to your sFiles Uploader component in experience cloud builder and click on the component to access the App Builder settings.
2. Ensure the List View Display Type is set to "List" or "Card". This will ensure sFiles is allowed display the files in the UI.
3. Then ensure the Show folders checkbox is checked. This will have three effects.
   1. It will allow users to view subfolders.
   2. It will allow users to navigate into subfolders.
   3. It will allow users to upload to any subfolder they navigate into.
4. With these features turned on your setup is complete! Users can now download to the folder or any subfolder that is currently open. Whatever folder is open in the list view, will be the upload destination of the file.
