Consider the following SharePoint folder structure:

Each Account's related data is nested within the Account folder, mirroring the Account's related lists in Salesforce. You can use sFiles to build a structure like this, whether it be for an Account's related records or for any other parent-child object.

The below steps show how to configure sFiles to automatically place child record folders within their parent record folders.

Steps:

1. Use the sFiles Manager to set up sFiles on the parent object (e.g. Account).
   1. Open the sFiles Manager Lightning App.
   2. Navigate to the Objects tab.
   3. If the parent object is not already set up, click the New button to launch the Object Setup Flow, then follow its instructions.
2. Add a folder to the parent's Initial Folder Structure. This folder will contain the child record folders (e.g. an "Opportunities" folder to contain an Account's related Opportunity folders).
   

   NOTE: When you set up a folder on a parent record, sFiles will automatically create the folders defined in the Initial Folder Structure. In our example, an "Opportunities" folder will be created in every new Account folder.

3. Use the sFiles Manager to set up sFiles on the child object (e.g. Opportunity).
   1. Launch the Object Setup wizard like you did in step 1.
   2. When the wizard prompts you to select a folder, select the same folder you chose for the parent. This folder will not actually be used in the final configuration.
   3. No initial folder structure is required.
4. Create a new text formula field on the child object.
   1. Call the field something like "Root Folder Override."
   2. In the formula body, concatenate the parent's SharePoint folder Id field, a comma, and the path to a folder that is under the parent folder (e.g. Account.sharepoint_folder_id__c + ',Opportunities').
      

      NOTE: The formula body can contain multiple folders in its path. For example, if you want to have a structure like Accounts>Bob's Account>Engineering>Opportunities>Opportunity123, your formula could look like Account.sharepoint_folder_id__c + ',Engineering/Opportunities'.

5. Open the child object's Lightning Record Page, select the sFiles component and set the Root Id Field API Name property to the API name of your formula field (e.g. "Root_Folder_Override__c").

What if I have a different site on my parent account?

If you have sFiles Enterprise and are linking objects to multiple sites, a few extra steps are necessary to make this set up work.

Example scenario

Let's assume that the Account object will have a different site than the child Opportunity based on the Status field. If the Account's status is "Archived," we will specify a different site than the "Active" status. The Opportunity child will then have to look to the Account's sites to properly be linked. 

To set up this type of configuration, we will need several new fields:

1. Site Override field on Account.
   1. This field will be a formula field that will change the site Id value based on the Status field.
   2. For example, IF(Status__c = 'Active','[Active Site ID]','[Archived Site ID]').
2. Document Library Override field on Account.
   1. This field will be a formula field that will change the document library Id value based on the Status field.
   2. For example, IF(Status__c = 'Active','[Active Document Library ID]','[Archived Document Library ID]').
3. Root Folder Override field on Account. 
   1. This field will be a formula field that will change the root folder Id value based on the Status field.
   2. For example, IF(Status__c = 'Active','[Active Root Folder ID]','[Archived Root Folder ID]').
4. Site Override field on Opportunity.
   1. This field will be a formula field that will point to the parent account's Site Override field.
   2. For example, Account.Site_Override__c.
5. Document Library Override field on Opportunity. 
   1. This field will be a formula field that will point to the parent account's Document Library Override field.
   2. For example, Account.Document_Library_Override__c.
6. Root Folder Override field on Opportunity.
   1. Concatenates the parent's SharePoint folder Id field, a comma, and the path to a folder as described before.
   2. For example, Account.sharepoint_folder_id__c + ',Opportunities'.

On the Lightning Record Pages for Account and Opportunity, set the Site Override, Document Library Override, and Root folder Override properties on the sFiles component to their respective values. 

The child object should now look to the parent's overrides and correctly route the folders to the appropriate sites.
